Geocache Description:

The access to the cache is generally easy with a mild ascent and can be found using the various public footpaths which criss cross the area. Nevertheless, a good pair of walking shoes or boots is recommended and is suitable for all.

This is a series of three caches themed around football clubs but only by name sake.

The village of Charlton hosts the birthplace of Sir Henry Bessemer, who developed the first process for mass-producing steel inexpensively. The dominant steel manufacturing technology of today is an extension and refinement of the one developed by Bessemer.

His place of birth is marked with a Blue Placque and can be found nearby the Windmill pub which in itself maybe a good vantage point to begin finding the cache.

The cache itself is a small 0.3L container which has a minimal amount of room to hold any of the goodies you may want to deposit. The walk to the cache will take you on an ascent to higher ground but the climb is mild in my opinion and will lead you to some beautiful views.

As per usual please be discreet and keep your eyes open for muggles and take a pen or pencil with you as the pen I placed in the cache seems to have gone walkies. Thank you.
