Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the southern region of the picturesque area known as Sogn Valley.

When immigrants arrived to this new land from the Scandinavian countries back in the early 1850s, they typically sought out a landscape that was vaguely familiar to what they had left behind back in their homeland. This particular valley was aptly named SOGN (pronounced "so-gun") after a popular area of Norway known by the same name. The rolling hills, the meandering rivers, the heavilly wooded sections of terrain held a certain appeal to this new settler that obviously reminded the homesick immigrant of a land they had long since left behind.

**WARNING** As you begin your search for this special cache, please be very careful as just a short distance off the road you will encounter an unkept barbed wire fence that could rip clothing and unsuspecting legs. Go slow and easy!
