My easy first cache is in honor of the Poteau Pirate Class of
1977. This is a good place for a first time cacher to experience
success.
The Pirate Stache has been placed in my own country neighborhood
on private property, with the property owner's blessing as long as
you park along the roadside and take the short walk to the cache.
The cache is not in the yard of any of the homes, but is in a grove
of trees on an empty acre. The walk to the site is mowed but you
may find a toe stubbing rock, small stump, snake, scorpion, or the
occasional ankle turning hole to avoid. Just mind your step and it
will be easy.
The Pirate Stache is in an ammo box and the original contents
include a log book, pen, sunglasses, a golf ball, several toys, and
the sword of a mighty pirate.
PLEASE REMEMBER, never leave scented items, candles, or crayons
in a cache!
I hope you have time to enjoy the lovely two-way view while
you're here. To the west you will see Cavanal, the world's highest
hill. Sugarloaf Mountain is across the Poteau River Valley to the
east.
