Harvey Bear Ranch Park in San Martin. No fee. Open every day 8AM to one-half-hour after sunset. (Possible to access this from Coyote Lake, but the hike would be more difficult, and Coyote Lake entrance has a fee.) Do not cross any fences except at the trail gates.
CARRY WATER. Use your hiking stick and hiking shoes. Very little shade. Horses and bikes allowed and encouraged but you might have to push the bike up some steep parts. Terrain rating would be a two except for last dozen feet. Don't be afraid to bring the kids. No poison oak visible anywhere.
