Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the western region of the picturesque area known as Sogn Valley.

SOGN Valley (pronounced "so-gun") was a popular area for the early settlers because the diverse landscape meant opportunity to make a living enabling the early residents of the valley to prosper. Often the settlers would arrive with scarcely a few dollars of cash in their pockets while also carrying all the possessions they owned contained in a few small storage trunks. They cleared the land...built their homes and succeeded at making a living thanks to a strong work ethic and a genuine human spirit to thrive.

Today as you drive through the valley you will still see remnants of many of these early farmsteads. Cropland butting against hardwoods is a common sight throughout the area. Bring your camera.

**NOTE** This cache is only a short distance off the road...but during the summer months you will encounter itch weed. To search for this cache it is recommended you wear long pants.
