This is an offset cache. The coordinates listed
above will take you to the Big Art in all its
glory.
To find the actual cache, you'll need to make an observation, do
some simple arithmetic, and find the final waypoint using "waypoint
projection". Many GPSrs can do this calculation directly.
Otherwise, a calculator program like
this web-based one will easily compute a second
waypoint given the direction and distance of the offset.
For this cache, first count the number of
horizontal lines on the face of the artwork.
Multiply this number by 29. The result is the number of feet to
offset. The direction of the offset is 11° (true heading).
The cache itself is an attractively camouflaged altoids tin. The
cache contains only a log and pencil... there is not much space for
trade items.
Note that the recommended web offset calculator was updated
in March 2023... because the old one was no longer available.
There are a bunch of these, and any will work, or you can sight your compass and
pace off the distance.
Because this is a high-traffic area, stealth will be
necessary to protect the cache from vandals. In answer to
inquiries from some cachers, this is not private property.
This is a high-traffic public facility.
