Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden in a spot I discovered while caching in the greater Grand Rapids area. The posted coordinates are not for the actual hide, nor are they for Caveboy_Ken’s house!

Remember your first days back at school in the fall? When the teacher asked you to write an essay titled “What I did this summer?” Well, it’s possible they only did that in the olden days, but I remember it clearly. The essay for me to write now would be titled “What I did in May.” I won’t bother you with a long essay – I’ll just tell you that I took a road trip to Michigan to visit kids, grandkids, other relatives, and friends. (And to cache as time allowed, right?)

Well, one of those friends is Caveboy_Ken, who just happens to also be one of my favorite caching buddies. I actually stayed in the area two days longer than originally planned so that the two of us could spend an extra day out and about – caching, of course.

Because I did no sightseeing on the way to Michigan, my memories of the trip are places where I spent the night or stopped to get gas for my car, Little Red. To find my way with ease, I used Streets and Trips on my laptop hooked up to my GPS, Little Yellow.

Well, before this does turn into a full-blown, old-style essay, let me just share the best places I stopped for lodging, gas for the drive and then gas for caching in Michigan. You should be able to figure out what I did at each location.

>>UPDATE 10/7/2006 - Thanks to critterlover, the cache has been replaced with a far better container than I placed originally. I raised the difficulty level to reflect that.
