Geocache Description:

Peggy's Cove is the most photographed place in Canada. Hundreds of thousands of tourists visit the area every year, drawn to the stark landscape, massive waves crashing on the rocks, and the tale of a young woman named Margret. As the story goes (recently confirmed), Peggy's Cove was named after Margret, the only survivor of a schooner that ran aground and sank in the early 1800s. Local folk called her "Peggy" and her new home came to be known as Peggy's Cove.

This cache offers a different angle on the cove and lighthouse; a quieter and more peaceful vantage point. The afternoon that I placed the cache my only company were the seabirds and three fishing boats tending their lobster traps a few hundred metres offshore.

The cache is suitable for most, although there are a couple of spots early on where younger or less agile cachers may need a 'leg up'. Parking is available at N 44 30.071 W 063 55.352.

Welcome to one of my favourite places on earth. Enjoy!
