Plum Creek Pickles Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
Pickles, they’re not just cucumbers preserved and flavored in brine and vinegar anymore.
“Pickles!” has become an exclamation Tex Turmoil and I use to alert the other to the fact that we think we know where the cache is though that has not been confirmed.
From that stemmed the term “pickle pile” which is that oh so obvious pile of sticks, bark, etc. that usually indicates the cache is hiding just underneath.
So I invite you to hunt this cache and see first hand what a “pickle pile” is, and boy is this one a doozy. Also, if you have any geo-lingo of your own, share it with us!
Coordinates are for the actual cache, though parking is recommended at the following coordinates: N 41º 12.612 W081º 48.468
You will want to take the “Red Trail” to the cache. No bushwhacking is allowed, as the cache is located within 10 feet of the trail, though poor GPS accuracy in the area may indicate otherwise. Coordinates were averaged over several visits, though geo-sense may guide you better once in the general area. The cache is at the half-way point of this loop trail, so you can hike the entire trail without back-tracking.
Cache container has plenty of room for trade items and travel bugs. Please bring your own writing utensil (just in case mine disappears).
