Part of the 6 part series (Arthur Man or Myth) A quick and easy one but take time to look around the church (if it is open) The parking is opposite the church at N50-34-377 W004-49-797. Take care as there is a little bit of "B" road to walk along..
On a clear day you can see Tintagel and Lundy Island.
St Edelentia was a virgin recluse, sister of St Nectan of Hartland and daughter of Welsh King Brychan of Brecknock. St Endelentia was also the God Daughter of King Arthur who helped her when a local Lord killed her cow (she lived on cows milk)that had strayed onto Lord Trentinneys land. Arthur gave him a mortal blow however Endelentia revived the Lord.
It is said that she asked that when she died, her body be placed on a sledge cart drawn by young animals and that she should be buried at the place wher the animals stopped. This is wher her shrine and subsequently the church was built.
The church is steeped in history and well worth the visit NOTE: This was a small cache that has been muggled (see log) I have replaced it in same location but it is now a micro and contains only part way point and pencil and paper.
