Lots more folklore here. The Lady of the Lake foster mother of Sir Lancelot also presented King Arthur with his magic sword, Excalibur through the intervention of the kings druidic advisor Merlin who was constantly worried that his monarch might fall in battle. The lady of the lake has a variety of names but for us we call her Vivienne. Celtic form of Co-Vianna (water goddess) After Arthur's demise at Slaughterbridge Sir Bediviere cast the sword into the lake wherupon an arm rose up from the surface of the lake clad in white samite, caught the sword and drew it underneath the water never to be seen again. Also John Tregagle the evil disciple of the devil was doomed to bail out the bottomless waters of Dozmary Pool with a leaking limpet shell for eternity in penance for his crimes. When I placed the cache John Tregagle had not made much progress!
