Strock Stone House National Historical Landmark
Take a drive along the original Mahoning Avenue (the road was first plank called "Plank Road" then brick) to visit the Strock Stone House in Austintown Ohio. Hidden in the backwoods, you might never know this historical landmark was here since it is not easily visible from the road. Situated near Meander Reservoir, the picturesque house was built circa 1831 by William Strock with sandstone blocks (some weighing 750 pounds) hewn from nearby Stony Ridge. Hidden here in the woods is a large ammo box with easy access for trading and plenty of room for lots of travel bugs and fun! Heck, the Austintown Historical Society would be more than pleased to have visitors from all over the world, virtual or not! This cache was placed with the permission of the Austintown Historical Society. This cache was moved on 6/18/05 about 100 feet by request.
