This is one of my favorite spots on the island for crazy lava formations, tubes and arches.
If you come from Waimea side, park a bit after the Scenic Point sign
If you come from Kona sign, you can U-turn a bit after Mile marker 27 and drive back a bit to park after the Scenic Point sign.
Walk carefully along the road facing the traffic and get on the lava field shortly after the Scenic Point sign.
It’s a couple hundred feet away from the highway on sharp lava.
The cache is not in the main lava tubes, so don’t risk your life going down there.
Before going back to your car, explore the other tubes and cracks, they’re pretty impressive! Enjoy!
