Short, sharp hike with a bit of rock scrambling.
Takes about 2 and a half hours.
Travel along Boyes Drive in the direction of Fish Hoek and park at the point where the road branches off into a cul de sac just before Boyes Drive descends to the harbour. Start at the official Trappieskop sign (S 34.07.561 E 018.26.709) and follow the path past the swing (save it for your return).
At S 34.07.537 E 018.26.493 keep right. The path branches again at S34.07.521 E 018.26.469 but take the left turn this time. Enjoy the view of Noordhoek and Long Beach in the distance.
At S 34.07.537 E 018.26.397 leave the main path and head up towards the trig-beacon. On the way you will come across a frequently visited overhang.
Continue following the path to the left of the cave then traverse to the right past the cliff face. Follow the cairns past the rock climbers and watch out for "Trappesaurus". Now bend back and up towards the trig-beacon. The school situated above the harbour, Bay Primary, has been on that site for 105 years. Did you spot "Bipodosaurus" on the way?
The cache is situated near the edge of one of the trappies further on from the beacon.
Found it! Enjoy the panoramic view of False Bay. Look out for the whales calving from July until about September. The hike shouldn't take more than 2 and a half hours.
