Geocache Description:

This cache was placed in Boyce Park near the 2005 "Be There" Magellan Contest cache as an additional bonus cache to enjoy in this nice wooded area.

I was recruited to hide the Pittsburgh area Magellan Contest cache (Adventure 18) for 2005. In keeping with tradition over the past couple years, I have also hidden this nearby cache as an extra bonus for those visiting. This cache is a well-camouflaged 30-caliber ammo can that is meant to remain well hidden. The nearby Magellan cache was an antique brass-colored 50-caliber ammo can, which has since been removed. You can read the clues and all of the exciting play-by-play of the final frenzy for the Magellan Contest Hunt here. This cache is located not too far from the large network of established biking/hiking trails in this large park.

Reasonable parking can be found at the Romar area (N 40° 28.168', W 79° 44.975'). Start out on the paved XC trail, where you'll find many wild raspberry bushes along the way. There were many ripe and delicious ones at the time that this cache was placed. Enjoy!
