Geocache Description:

This small cache is located in the beautiful town of Pacific Grove. It is right next to the 17th tee of Pacific Grove Golf Links and is right across the street from the majestic Pacific Ocean. The Point Pinos lighthouse can also be seen from the cache.

This cache is a small metal container that is circular in shape and holds only a small logbook, small Travel Bugs (geocoins are perfect for this cache), and other small trade items. It is covered in camo duct tape and is about the diameter of a saucer dish for coffee cups. Many of the veteran cachers I'm sure have seen this type of container before. REMEMBER TO SCREW THE TOP ON SECURELY BEFORE LEAVING TO KEEP THE CONTENTS DRY.

I HIGHLY SUGGEST A CAMERA FOR THIS CACHE FOLKS. I have spent much time in this area along the water and you never know what you will see. The golf course you see when you arrive is the Pacific Grove Golf Links. The par 3 that is right next to the parking lot is the 17th hole. That is Crespi Pond the golfers are shooting over. To the southeast you will see Point Pinos lighthouse up on the hill back from the road. This is the oldest working lighthouse on the entire west coast and provides a great photo backdrop with the golf course. The most obvious landmark is the mighty Pacific Ocean.

Now on to where the actual cache is hidden. The above coordinates act as an area to park and the exact spot to find the cache. Once you are getting close it will be obvious where to park. You can practically drive to the cache. The cache is hidden in a pile of old tree stumps and rocks that is readily seen from the small parking area right before the small building (the public restroom). There are many spots where this little disc-like geocache could be hidden in this pile so look carefully. On Friday through Sunday and all holidays this area has HIGH MUGGLE TRAFFIC so it is best to come at the evening hours unless you have an invisibility jacket or something! The cache however is safe from muggle eyes so not to worry. If you are stumped try having a crack at the hint to give you the exact spot of the cache (total SPOILER).

After you found the cache have a look around and absorb the surroundings. Depending on the time of day there will be all types of wildlife readily availiable for photos. Deer are seen throughout the day as are many species of sea birds and others. At dusk keep your eyes peeled for red fox. They are readily abundant to the observant eye. The scenery continues many miles down the road in either direction so enjoy a drive, bike, run, or walk along the mighty Pacific.

Please be aware of the golfers around you because sometimes they hit a few wayward shots (I know I have on occasion). And for you fisherman thinking you may wet a line in Crespi Pond, think again. Being an avid fly-fisherman myself I have throughly studied that pond and there is not a single fish in there. Sorry.
