Located just off the Bay Area Ridge trail in Vallejo CA. Terrain starts off "zig-zaggy" and steep but becomes a easy walk in no time flat. Distance traveled will be about 2 miles (round trip) with a max elevation of 590 feet. (Depending on where you park.)
The US Military Sniper has been called the Ninja of our times. Able to blend into their environment seamlessly, they have the ability to take lives, gather intelligence, destroy morale, and stop or slow enemy movement. They have been known to wait days for the perfect time to strike. Precision, Discipline, and Stealth our watchwords and their actions have not only taken lives but has also saved lives. This cache is a tribute to them and every member of the US Armed forces.
The cache is a regular sized “Click-Clack” box. It’s adorned with a US Army patch and a 63rd Regional Readiness Command patch. It is also camouflaged in a traditional way of a US Military Sniper (a Modern Ninja).
The trip to the cache site is about a mile. It starts out very steep but quickly become a easy hike with great views of Vallejo and rock formations. The easiest way to get to this cache is to start out at Blue Rock Springs Park in Vallejo, CA. Park in the upper parking lot and you will see an entrance to the Bay Area Ridge Trail. Take this trail head up the hill. You’ll come to a green gate open it up to continue on the Ridge trail and out of Blue Rock Springs.
When (if) you do find the cache turn it upside down to reveal the latches and be very careful when reattaching the lid so you do not damage the camo. The latches swivel upwards from a joint in the lid. If the latches don’t “click” when you close the lid it is not on correctly. When your done please place it back where you got it from.
Watch your step too if you lean or climb on any rock formations.
