The cache is in the Ramsdown Plantation. Although in Dorset in comes under the GAGB agreement mainly relating to the New Forest, in Hampshire. Please read and respect what has been negotiated so we can continue to place and visit caches in these areas.
Ramsdown has quite a big car park, for the numbers that visit, at N50 46 386 W001 48 980. The sign for the car park is slightly obscure. If you're coming from the B3347 you can easily double back at the roundabout if you pass it. From the West, B3073, the entrance is just past Hurn Bridge Sports Club.
It says there is a picnic place, but there is one rough looking table by the car park! The attractions of Ramsdown are the great views to the North West, East and South East.
There are plenty of footpaths, but to get the views (and final co-ordinates) you need to walk up some steep slopes. The paths can be a bit rough and uneven and, as soil and sandy, will get muddy after rain. Its not wheelchair or buggy friendly. The total walk should be under 1½ miles.
At the co-ordinates, you will find a sign with some initials and then four words. The number of characters of the words become A, B, C & D. To find the cache go to N50 46 0(B - A)B W001 48 (A + C)D0
The cache is a 1/2 litre plastic container that only takes small swaps. Please hide carefully as you can still see the burn marks on the grass where the original got incinerated!
The cache is named after the road you travelled on, the Avon Causeway. The man-made carbuncles within the plantation, when cache set, have now disappeared
