Geocache Description:

Scuba Trek is an underwater navigation and virtual cache ending at a unique underwater site. Follow the compass bearings and distances given to complete the course and find the cache.

SCUBA TREK is an underwater GEOCACHE placed specifically for divers.

The trek is not exceptionally difficult and is suitable for beginning open water certified divers, no more than 40’ deep, however, it must be noted that a minor entanglement possibility exist at the cache location and any diver not comfortable with that possibility should not attempt this trek. Also, accurate underwater navigation skills are required, a compass heading and distance are given at the first and second legs, leading to the cache.

There is boat traffic here so caution and a dive flag are mandatory.

There are two public accessible locations from which to begin this trek.
The first is a public boat launch at N42.11.130 and W085.32.262 and a boat is required because the cache is located beyond swimming distance from that position.
The second entry location is a city park at N42.11.536 W085.32.419 and requires a fee to enter; however, the cache is an easy swim from the beach location.
Please note: avoid the swimming area and enter the water at this location, N42.11.469 W085.31.986.

The trek is in three legs: the first is to locate a submerged 6” x 6” plastic sign at N42.11.460 and W085.31.925 (ST 1) that has the compass heading and distance from there to the next leg (ST 2).
The next step is to follow the heading and travel the distance from ST 2, searching for another 6” x 6” plastic sign which is the cache. Remember the symbol on it and what it is attached to.

To authenticate the find you must email the cache owner and reveal the symbol found on the cache and what it is attached to, along with the time and date of the find. The owner of the cache will add you to the authentication log list found at the end of this listing.

Please log your experience but do not reveal to others the symbol as this will spoil the fun and the challenge of the cache.

As always plan your dive and dive your plan. Safety first! Good Luck.
