This is a beautiful and appropriate spot for a cache. From hwy 28 turn west onto game school road to parking coords. N 41 17.775' W078 52.614'. Be careful of the deer the last .75 miles to parking, the road is lined with tall evergreens and they come out of nowhere.
Take your camera for this one. The area you will be at was the Ross Leffler school of conservation. Established July 7, 1932 after it was acquired from a pittsburgh attorney who used it as a hunting camp. It was the first school, ever, devoted entirely to training conservation officers, and helped establish the agency's lead role in wildlife conservation throughout the world. 2,235 people applied for the first class in 1935, 35 were selected. On february 28,1937 27 of those graduated being members of the very first training school for wildlife officers in the world. Approximately 856 took classes at the school 716 of them graduated as state game protectors. The conservation pledge reads as "I give my pledge as an american to save and faithfully to defend from waste the national resources of my country-It's air It's soil and minerals It's forests waters and wildlife." The Leffler school was later moved to harrisburg in 1986. The cache itself is a large ammo box loaded with lots of good stuff such as a Ted Nugent Spirit of the wild C.D. local outdoor shop gift certificate, game calls, scent control products, trail-cam photos, these are just a few Please take and leave something of wildlife or hunting signifigance.
