Geocache Description:

An all-day four-wheel drive will net you a couple of caches and some great views!

This cache is the third in a series that culminates at the Caney Fork #5 cache. You will be travelling on old logging roads that WILL require a 4WD vehicle. And when I say "4WD" I mean a 4WD that you don't mind getting more beaten up. [See the photos I loaded to this page.] The day this series of caches was placed we took saws, chain saws and shovels. Previous 4WD experience would be useful.

To get to this cache follow Caney Fork Road all the way to the end of the well-graded gravel road. Caney Fork Road continues to the right; not long after you will make a very sharp turn to the left (almost 180 degrees). [Turn coordinates are N 35° 20.481 W 083° 01.743.]

From the Caney Fork #2 coordinates you can either take the road that immediately crosses the creek or continue up Caney Fork Road, ford the creek in an easier manner, continuing up Coppermine Creek Road to N 35° 21.417 W 083° 02.159. Here you should find a short "road" up to the cache; I recommend taking your 4WD up in reverse. The cache will be found not far -- or far -- from the end of the "road."

Finding this cache will also help you find Caney Fork #5 -- don't forget to record the number written on the inside of the ammo can lid. Thanks to 3zzz3 for the great day!
