We love to bike this trail so we park in Dousman (N43 00.823’ W088
28.378’) where you will find the cache about 5.6 miles towards the
east. You can also park in Wales (N43 00.183’ W088 22.447’) where
you will have a short walk to the area. There is also a lot of
information about the trail at this location. The journey to the
cache area is easy except for the last 100 feet. Please give your
GPS a few minutes to settle. Be very careful on the steep hill (the
reason for the high terrain rating)!
A Little History about the Trail: The Glacial Drumlin Trail is a
52-mile trail developed in 1986 on an abandoned railroad grade. It
is in southern Wisconsin between the City of Waukesha in Waukesha
County and the Village of Cottage Grove in Dane County. Thirteen
miles of the trail from Waukesha through Dousman are paved with
asphalt. The rest of the trail is surfaced with crushed limestone
packed to a smooth surface. The trail is open to bicyclists,
in-line skaters, hikers, and joggers during the summer; and also to
snowmobilers and skiers during the winter. Bicyclists and in-line
skaters 16 years old and older must have a state trail pass in
order to use the trail.
Congratulations to Corlf
