Mark your calendar and make plans now to attend the July Meet & Greet, sponsored by The Maryland Geocaching Society! Event starts at 11 A.M. on Saturday, July 9th.
"Whether you like to boat, fish, hike, picnic, play tennis, or just appreciate nature's beauty, Piney Run Park is yours to enjoy. Completed in 1974, this 300 acre lake is rich in environmental and recreational resources. Its clear waters are surrounded by 500 acres of beautiful woods and open space.
There are over five miles of hiking trails within the Park. The Lake and Indian trails keep you near the facilities while the Inlet and Field trails allow a more secluded retreat. There are also equestrian and bicycle trails."
There is an entrance fee to the park $4.00 for Carroll County Residents and $6.00 for other counties.
The event is open to ALL geocachers, even if you're not from Maryland or if you're not a member of the MGS (join here--it's free!) We encourage any geocacher who has an interest in quality caches and wants to have a good time to join us! New to the game? New to the area? Visiting from out of town? Feel free to join us!
This event will be held rain or shine. We'll have a brief business meeting to go over some things the MGS is working on, and we'll eat lots of good food, share lots of great stories, and fill our heads with lots of great memories!
The event's format is potluck. Please post a "Will attend" note on the cache page if you plan on coming and what dish you plan to bring to share.
There are existing caches in the park and new ones are in the works.
