"Power to the People" Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

LavaLizard: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

South across the estuary you can see the South Bay Power Station. Cache is just a few steps off the sidewalk along the water running into the bay. Parking close by.

Duke Energy owns the lease on the power plant until 2010. The company presented a $50,000 check from its foundation to the Chula Vista Nature Center to be used toward the new sea turtle exhibit that will open early in 2006. The Nature Center is north of this site, off of E Street.

Camo 4X6 in. container with lizard, bracelet, art CD...usual good "goodies"!. The disposable camera that used to be in the cache was well used--you can see the folks who snapped their pictures in the photos. Careful of the spoilers!

This is such a great spot for a CITO. Bring your plastic bag, gloves and a pick-er-up-er (if you're squimish), and help make the area more beautiful. There must be a lot of people who don't know what a trash can is for :(
