Geocache Description:

Kamloops needed to show some Travel Bug hospitality, so we have created this Travel Bug B&B.

Standard Travel Bug Hotel Rules apply: If you take a travel bug, please leave a travel bug.
About the location... Monte Creek park is a 1.7 hectare provincial park established in 1996. The park was developed for both cultural heritage and conservation. The park is a significant site in the history of the shuswap indian's use of the South Thompson River. Much has been destroyed in the recent past, but remnants of kekuli pit houses remain. The site included tunnels joining round and square pit houses, river-facing entraces, underground ovens, and possible burials. This site was deemed to have interpretation potential and is a documented archeological site. The park is also the site of the old Bridgade Trail. The park is also near the historical Monte Creek church and schoolhouse, and reaction ferry across the South Thompson River.
