Anyone who is a fan of video
games is familiar with id Software. They also know who John Carmack
is, the workaholic genius behind id games such as Wolfenstein,
Doom, and Quake.
This cache is located at the black
monolithic building that formerly housed id Software. I remember
many nights seeing the lights of the id offices blazing at
midnight, and still again the next morning just after dawn. id
Software made Carmack a cult icon and a multi-millionaire. You
could see a different Ferrari from his collection in the parking
lot every day.
John is more into rockets and sending
passengers into space these days. The lights at id don't blaze into
the black night anymore.
Cache is a cammoed 35mm film can. Log
only, so BYOP please.
Co-ordinates were determined with a
Garmin GPS 60Cx with WAAS enabled, under ideal conditions, averaged
over a three minute span, to an accuracy of 6.0 ft.
