This cache is located off of US 23 North Bound Lane pull-off. If you are going South Bound, you will need to go to the top of the Mountain and turn around and head North Bound. You cannot cross over going S. Bound due to a barrier. The cache is not difficult to find, it shouldnt take long to find. In tick and snake season, please BE-WARE!
You are looking for a .50 Cal. Ammo Can, covered well. This is a TB Motel so Trade TB's for TB's and if you dont have a TB to trade then please do not take a TB, just sign the log.
This pull off is the future home of a Kentucky Welcome Center and Rest Area. So once they start construction, I may have to move it but hopefully not.
Feel free to take and post all the pictures that you wish, if you are lucky you will get to see a sunrise or sunset at the cache site. It is a beautiful site.
Just a few years back, a massive construction project took place here on this mountain, the road was moved and tremendous amounts of rock was moved to make way for the road. If you look up on the rock face you will see that there are caves, the workers covered the entries with cement and rubble so that nobody could access them. There is also a fault on this mountain "there is a picture below" you will notice when you are heading South Bound that on your right the rock goes from slanted to straight up and down, this is due to a fault that runs through the earth. You may find many different fossils in this area, many large ones were un-covered during construction. Scientists and professors come from far away to see this gem of nature.
There are also lots of wildlife throughout the area, you may see deer, turkey, ELK, BEARS, and lots of different birds.
The coordinates take you to the edge of the grassy hill, the cache is located about 25 ft. over the hill. I have provided a hint if you feel you need one.
