The second cache in a Tolkein series. It is located in the southern
section of Muttontown preserve.
An easy cache to find in a less traveled area of Muttontown
Preserve.
The trails are mostly used by people on horse so expect a lot of
poop.
I almost didn't see this spot when walking but then there it was
less than 200' off the trail. I suggest you wear long pants since
there were a bunch of brambles and will be more as the summer
progresses.
Check the posted parking coords. Babybat spoke with a Brookville PO
who said if you're completely off the road and leave a note in your
car that you're hiking, they will leave you alone. If you get a
ticket blame her!
The spot reminded me of The Forbidden Pool in The Two Towers.
Apparently this area of the preserve is forbidden as well, at least
as far as the locals are concerned. People who have houses that
border the preserve in this section have private entrances to ride
in on horseback while the rest of us have to either take a chance
with parking or park in one of the two designated lots of the
preserve.
As always, the paratrooper and logbook are not for trade.
Happy Hunting!
