Geocache Description:

Located at the Fossil Rim Overlook that is a few miles past the entrance to Fossil Rim Wildlife Center-watch for signs. Previous cache was muggled so it is time to try again. Parking nearby and then you can walk back down the road a short distance. Terrain is flat until last 10-20' when you will encounter cactus and other plants. Concise description below to allow for a quick find and prevent muggles from finding since road is in full view of visitors to petting zoo and surrounding area.

Decon container in cedar tree approximately 40' off the road and before the Large cedar tree that sits in front of the "Welcome to the Overlook" sign. Fossil Rim Wildlife Center Hours are 8:30-5:30 March-October and 8:30-3:30 Nov-Feb. The OVERLOOK opens 30 minutes AFTER the center, and closes 30 minutes before. You can check prices for the Center at www.fossilrim.org -it isn't cheap, but has 1/2 price Wednesdays. The Overlook area is the 1/2 way point of the drive through the wildlife center. It is FREE and gives you access to the petting zoo, hiking trails, cafe, picnic areas, and store for souvenirs. Back at the Wildlife Center you can park at a picnic area that is by a pond with lots of wildlife, especially turtles. From both sites you can view many of the animals for FREE.
