** Thanks to all who have located our little Cache. ** This cache takes you through the very pretty cotswold village of Ampney Crucis.
This cache takes you through the beautiful cotswold village of Ampney Crucis. There are many ways to get to the cache, but suggested parking is at the Crown of Crucis pub at N51 42.854 W001 54.293, if only for a well deserved refresher at the end of the walk. Follow the road up through the village, and eventually head north up Allotment Lane (unsigned). You are heading for a style, which can be a bit overgrown in the summer, at N51 43.337 W001 53.726 The public footpath takes you to a road. Follow the road north, to a crossroads, where you should turn right. Another public footpath begins at N51 43.844 W001 53.525, bearing north, with a newly erected style and fence. Do watch out for the brambles, at times they can get a bit overgrown, but they are cut back fairly regularly. There are many footpaths and many back roads in this little part of the Cotswolds, so how you get here is up to you. By parking in the pub and following the route above and back again you will be walking a 3 mile round trip.
