Geocache Description:


WILDerness Park, RICE County

800 acre park with trails, picnic shelter, restrooms, canoe launch, campsites, woodlands, meadows, prairie and wetland. Oh and don't forget the wildlife!!!!

Cat eyes

You are looking for an ammo can -all trade items follow an animal theme. while you are out in your hike keep your eyes open for the local wildlife,there are at least 50 species of nesting birds here including great horned owls. You may also see Red-tailed Hawks, Wild Turkey,Ruffed Grouse, a number of different members of the woodpecker family, Vulture, Woodcock, and Redstart, just to name a few.Along with the birds there are 10 kinds of mammals, 5 amphibians, and 3 snakes likely to be living in and around the park. You will likely see deer but can you spot a Coyote, Red Fox or Skunk while you are here?
None of the snakes to be found here are poisonousand inclued The Fox snake, Bull snake and Red-bellies snakes. So enjoy your hike, enjoy the Wilds of Rice county and enjoy the cache.
