Geocache Description:

If I ever run away from home, this is where you'll find me! My secret place, now with a cache! Be prepared, though.. you will encounter multiple water hazards, steep terrain in places, bugs and mud. If you decide to bushwack, there are stinging nettles and jaggers !! There is no need for that, though,- there are quad trails all the way to the cache. I suggest you park at your own risk at the coordinates on Piney Fork Rd at "Corvette Tunnel" <-as I've heard the local police have recently begun to issue parking citations here> (N40 16.372 W79 58.195 ) and hike to the waypoint of (N40 16.175 W79 58.366) .From there, go to the final coordinates above. If you do it any other way, you risk either needing a parachute, or having my neighbor chase you with an axe. (I'm serious) The cache is in a 30mm. ammo can. When you are done, if you have time, go back to the waypoint and enjoy the scenery along the trail next to the creek. Bring your fishin' pole, too,- I have personally seen fish more than a foot long in the area ! Yes, the name of this cache refer's to the Green Man of Urban Legend, who's infamous tunnel is across the street from the parking co-ords. The old story goes that a lineman was electrocuted in the area, but lived to see another day. However, the shock caused his skin to turn green , and burned a hole in his cheek (which he later blew cigarette smoke out of). The trauma caused the outcast to flee and take refuge in the tunnel for the rest of his life. It is said that you'r car's electrical system would often malfunction when driving past his lair. The tunnel is currently filled with rock salt by the township, but is slated to become part of the rails-to-trails in the future. Also check out "Creekside Cache" and "South Hills Cache" while in this neck o' the woods. (note- although one parking area for South Hills Cache is the same as for this cache, I don't recommend bushwacking from one to the other, for the reasons above!) Enjoy my favorite place!!
