Stone the Crows! Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Itinerant Meggie: Unfortunately, after a good 10 year run, it looks like the cache has been muggled. Bizarrely, all that was left in the cache location was a golf ball and pen (which have now been removed) so I’ve decided to archive this listing. If anybody wants to take over the cache, please contact me through the site… or feel free to set up another one.

Geocache Description:

This cache is located near the Western end of Stanage Edge and offers superb views across the lower Derwent valley.

The cache can be approached via two routes, the shortest being 0.94 of a mile from the small parking area on the A57 at N53 23.218 W1 39.331 Alternatively, park at Dennis Knoll car park N53 21.333 W1 39.606 and walk along the track to the stile at N53 21.561 W1 39.520 Then follow the footpath towards Stanage Edge - the abandoned millstones along this route make an interesting diversion. Both routes involve a climb along uneven terrain, so appropriate footwear is recommended. The cache is a 1.5ltr Tupperware type container with a clear lid.
