Well off the beaten track, this cache overlooks a classic coastal summer's paradise of cliffs and cabins, fishing grounds and islands.
This is where Albert and his colleagues built a company cabin in the early 60s. While it may not be the prettiest spot on earth, many families had and still have wonderful holidays and weekends there - leading the simple life of no driveway and no electricity, fishing straight from their grand jetty or going crab hunting on remote, wild islands like Udvaar.
Albert always made sure that the smallest guest was happy and comfortable, teaching him to row a boat, start an outboard engine, catch mackerel and other skills.
I was that little guest. The cache at Uncle Albert's bay is dedicated to all those uncles and aunts who always have time and patience for the kids.
Albert is no longer with us, and his final years he spent increasingly in a world of his own. However, the best moments of his life he spent right here on the bay. From the cache, you can see the cabin across the bay.
The cache is a military-style metal container.
The cache sits 14 meters above sea level on a steep cliff on the shores of Vigekilen, part of Songvårfjorden. It is hidden in a safe distance from the edge, but please be careful and keep kids under control. If you arrive by boat, the terrain up to the cache is rough. The cache is really designed to visit on foot, not by boat. Whichever approach you choose you are requested to be stealthy and don't go near the cabins and a harbor nearby.
