The event will introduce Geocaching and will also introduce Radio Direction Finding (also known as Fox Hunting). The audience will be Geocachers and Ham Radio Operators (and anyone else) looking to find out new skills.
Arrive at the specified coordinates after 5:00 PM. At that time we will have the barbecue going and will be chowing down to build up energy for the hunt ahead. Bring a dish, if you like.
At 6:00 we will give a short explanation and demonstration of Radio Direction Finding and also Geocaching. Then, everyone will join into teams consisting of at least a cacher and a ham. To find the hidden goodies, both skills will be used! We hope to interest new people in Geocaching and in Amateur Radio.
The location is Mills Riverside Park. Park at: 44 31.000 North x 72 56.834 West. There are more caches per square foot in this park then anywhere else on the planet, so you won't be bored!
To log this cache, attend the event, have a good time (required) and describe in your log what new skills you learned.
