Platsen ligger några km. från Jukkasjärvi, den första handels- o mötesplatsen i omrodet, med en tornlös timmerkyrka, byggd 1726. Den äldsta kyrkan byggdes 1606-1608. Nuvarande kyrkanär mycket sevärd med en färgsprakande altartavla av Bror Hjort skildrande prästen Laestadius predikan mot tjuveri och dryckenskap bland församlingen. Orgelns dekorationer är utförda av den samiske konstnären Sunna.
Byggnadstillståndet för Ishotellet utgick i april, så nu har byggmaterialet av naturliga skäl åerbördats till Torneälven för att återuppstå i november-december.

The cache is situated a couple of kilometers from Jukkasjärvi, the first trade- and meetingplace in the area. There is a church without tower, built in1726. The oldest church was built in 1606-1608. The present church is very notable with a highly coloured altarpiece, painted by the swedish artist Bror Hjort, describing the priest Laestadius lecture against larceny and drunkenness against thje congregation. The decoration on ther orgel are made by the lappish artist Sunna.
The building licence for Ice-hotell ceased in april. Therefore the bulding materials have restored to Torneälven, from where it came. In november-december there will be anew Ice-hotell
