Geocache Description:

The cache is located on Hecla Island, Lake Winnipeg.
The cache is NOT at the posted coordinates

The posted coordinates are roughly for the beginning of the Hecla Village Self-guiding Trail.
Hecla Island is accessible by a causeway on Highway #8. It is a provincial park that requires a park pass or entry permit.

Cache coordinates are N51° 11.ABC W96° 36.DEF

You must find a number of clues and do some arithmetic in order to determine the cache's complete coordinates. The clues are all found on the signs of the Hecla Village Self-guiding Trail (1 kilometer round trip). All of the signs are numbered. Read each sign and correlate the sign's number with its title. Slackers beware: the trail brochure does not include all of the signs and some sign numbers have more than one sign associated with them. After solving the puzzle, you will need to drive to a different part of the island where a further round trip of 3 to 4 kilometers on maintained trails is required depending on where you park. (The hike will take you along the Lighthouse trail.) The trails can be either hiked or biked in summer. Bring your own drinking water and enjoy exploring the island. Tally Ho!

A=Hecla Church
B=Sigurgeirsson Log House
C=Icelandic Names

D=Hecla School minus General Store
E=Skiffs plus Sawmill
F=Community Hall minus Whitefish Boats

The container is 700 ml plasticware with camouflage tape job. Original cache contents - Hecla souvenirs: reclining moose, collapsible cup, mosquito skinner, Canada Flag/Hecla pin. Laughing bag, little dinosaur, log book, scribbled FTF note, pencil and sharpener.

Kudos to my son and daughter for their help in creating this cache.
