No, it's not South Dakota. These "badlands" are right here in OC's Laguna Niguel. Just like those in So. Dakota, but miniature. You're gonna love this place!
The cache is hidden in Badlands Park, a gem of a place that is tucked away and not well-known. Park at the end of Isle Vista (before the gate) and take the stairs. Then take the Sea View trail to the LEFT; the entrance to the park is not far.
The scenic area was once an ancient beach. The terrain includes sandstone, soft sand and rocks. Wear sturdy shoes. Long pants would be helpful because there is brush. Dogs are welcome.
Please respect the land and do not approach the cache from the Sea View trail directly above. Find your way to the cache by trails through the park. Be sure to go to the far edge of the park to take in the beautiful ocean view. The park overlooks part of Aliso and Wood Canyons Regional Park and the town of Laguna Beach.
While here I have seen quail, scrub jays, roadrunners and other birds.
