For the brave, we will be organising a group booking on the Go Ape high wire forest adventure in Grizedale Forest. Taking part in this is not compulsary in order to log the event. Non swingers are very welcome and there are plenty of footpaths below, to observe and take pictures. Please note that the Forestry commission car parks at Go Ape! cost £2 for up to 4 hours parking.
The main event itself (open to all) will be a picnic/BBQ afterwards, where we can discuss geocaching and swap TBs. This will be on a bring-your-own basis. As we could not find a picnic area big enough, this will be held at the Low Wray National Trust Campsite.
We will be camping out on the Friday and Saturday night at the
Low Wray National trust Campsite, near Ambleside (N54.24.134 W002.58.127). They have kindly allowed us to reserve enough space for 15 tents in the Roses and AYT areas of the group field (N54.24.408 W002.58.342). The site does not accept caravans. Again, camping out is not compulsary to log the event.
All bookings for both Go Ape! and camping must be made through us if you want to be with the rest of the group.
If you wish to take part in the aerial assault course, prices are £18 for Gorillas (Adults) and £13 for Baboons (10-17 years). Please add a 'will attend' note below with the number of Gorillas and Baboons in your party. Before deciding whether you want to take part, please read the FAQ section of the Go Ape website.
If you wish to camp, The prices per night are £4.50 per adult, £1.50 per child, £1 per dog (covers the cost of a poop-scoop) and £2.50 per car. Please state the number of each required for camping, as well as which nights you will be staying. Please also add the number of tents in your party, as we have limited space.
Unfortunately, we could not get a booking for Go Ape in the morning, so the booking has been made for 3.30pm. This should give enough time to do some local caches first. The following people are booked in for Go Ape:
