This is the fifth in an on-going series of caches honoring one of the greatest magicians of all time - the late, the great, the one and only, Harry Houdini. Each cache in this series will be different then its predecessor. Different how, you ask? Well, that's what you will need to figure out.
Some magicians pull rabbits out of a hat or make a person float, but that was too easy for Houdini. He wanted something bigger and better - something that people would remember for a long time. So, what's bigger and better then working with a small animal you ask? Why it's a 10,000 pound elephant, of course!
With Harry's magic words and a gunshot, Jennie, his 10,000 pound assistant, vanished into thin air in the middle of the brightly lit stage at the Hippodrome Theater in New York City in 1918.
An amazing act was thus born, and Houdini called it "The Vanishing Elephant". This incredible trick helped make Houdini, yet again, a world-famous master of illusion.
Jennie hated this trick, not only because of the noises, but because she got paid peanuts for her work, not with the green stuff that we all like so very much. Disgruntled by the lack of arbitration, Jennie stormed off and ran away in the middle of the night. She has never been seen again.
Your mission is to help Harry Houdini find Jennie, pay her what she was worth and continue to amaze people in the after life with this wonderful trick. Again.
Please note how the cache was hidden. If you could place it back as you found it, or even better, this will prevent it from being bamboozeled and hornswaggled by muggles.
Permission granted for placement
Cache is less then 100 feet from parking. It is rated higher then usual due to the high muggle factor. Do not complain if the above coords are off - heavy tree coverage in the area does that.
By the way, there is a GREAT place to eat across the street - one of my all-time favorites. I've eaten there numerous times with Thorny1, GA Cacher, Team Happyspider, SpiderWebbs and TRAM.
Have you solved The Metamorphosis, The Milk Can Escape,
The Great Escape or
The Straight Jacket Escape yet?
Thanks to Thorny1 for the creative idea that was added to the cache!
