Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden 300 feet from Magone Slide trail. You will be required to walk 1/3 of a mile up a maitained trail to find this cache.

Directions: There are two easy ways to get to the Magone Slide trail. The first is from John Day:(paved the whole way) Follow HWY 26 east towards Prairie City until you see county road 18(on the left). Follow county road 18 for 12 miles (following Magone Lake signs)then turn left on Forest Service road 3620 (following Magone Lake signs)about 3 miles to the trailhead (road 3620 will switch to 3618,go right at the Y, stay on pavement.) The other way is: From Mt Vernon go north on HWY 395 then take a right onto County Rd. 32 and follow the magone lake signs(about 7 miles) Magone lake has camping and fishing spots available and the slide trail will give you an idea how this lake came to be.
