Geocache Description:

Set in the busy village of Haddenham this cache takes you through an interesting area with nice views and old houses it will take approx. 1 hour to walk.

You will need to take a pen and some paper or a brainy person with you as there will be some light maths to do.

The Cider House was the place where the body of murdered Thame farmer, Noble Edden was taken in October 1828 after the gruesome discovery of his battered body by a farmer on his way to graze his horses at Anxey meadow.
Noble was witness to two men whom he knew, murdering and stealing sheep on another farmers land. Noble thought himself, a clever man but that was to be his down fall. Each time he saw them he would baa like a sheep. This did not go unnoticed as the two men plotted to kill Noble.
On his way home from Aylesbury Market they attacked Noble and bludgeoned him with a heavy stone hammer. Noble had a premonition of his down fall and had spoken about it to a man he picked up on his way to Haddenham.
On the night of the murder Mrs Edden was at home when she had a horrible vision of a man she knew murdering her husband. It was not until march 1830 that the men thought to have murdered Noble were hung at Aylesbury Gaol. It is said that they were sentenced by false accusations.
Did they do it or was the real murderer standing in the crowd watching.
