Geocache Description:

“Get to the Point” is Rockport’s premier Travel Bug Resort.

Adopted 12/08 by ThatcherRoad

TBs can rest, relax, and recuperate before beginning the next phase of their journey. They will be able to enjoy scenic vistas, rock climbing and ocean sports. Don’t forget about sledding in the winter!

The cache is located near the end of Gott Street, 200 feet from the trail head and about 20 feet off the trail . It is a 3.2 quart rubber maid container with a red top. The container is placed in the base of a small tree/sapling. A few fun toys are included in the initial cache contents. So, please trade items that would be fun in a resort setting.

Bring bug spray as mosquitos and ticks are prevelant during the spring, summer and fall. There are a few briars, so watch your step. It is best to park in the Halibut Point State Park parking lot located at N 42o 41.179', W070o37.891'. If you park, on Gott Street, there is a chance that your car could be towed. From Columbus Day to Memorial Day, there is a $2 fee to park in the lot. All other times are free. The park is open year-round, daily, sunrise to sunset; during summer, parking lot opens at 8 am.

After finding the cache, hike the trail which will take you along the water and eventually back to the quarry and the parking lot. You will see beautiful vistas and rocky areas.

NOTE: Please only take a TB if you leave one. This will help to always have some to trade. Thanks!
