The cache is hidden under an overhanging rock high above the Thukela River
This was a spur of the moment cache - I invited a colleague of mine to hunt a cache in the area, and once he found it (his first) he wanted to find another. But the nearest unfound cache would've taken way to long to find so we decided to hide one. So we did. We "borrowed" a tupperware bowl (courtesy of one of the fine establishments in the area), bought some wrapping paper from another and made a makeshift log book, placed a plastic gecko, rubber ball, pen, and glass cube taken from Camp Jeep 2005 cache.
To find the cache, follow the road past Hlalanathi Resort and park at S 28 39.727 E029 01.629. It's a pretty steep climb and I suggest you have hiking boots and means of spiking support (hiking stick) to help you up - there are several contour "paths" made by livestock that one could use as steps. The cache is placed in a "cave" under an overhanging rock in the cleft of the two hills. When placed the cache site had been burned as a firebreak - so we found the climb quite easy - but summer growth may increase difficulty. BEWARE: LOOSE ROCKS!!!!!! Enjoy!!
