This cache is located off a marked trail from the Convict Lake boat house.
After trudging through a swamp, and bushwhacking up a hill to seek other caches in the area, we wanted to plant an easier find in this gorgeous location. Especially since this is one of our very favorite family-friendly hikes anywhere. While this isn't exactly a "dash", you should be able to accomplish the entire mission in a few minutes. However, we highly suggest hiking around the entire lake. The terrain is easy and the far side of the lake is a gem. There is an elevated wooden path that leads you over streams and wildflowers and through a grove of Aspen trees. We always pack a picnic lunch and let our dog swim in the lake. It's a slice of heaven. You also have the option of extending the hike from this point to find "Tiki Torch Falls Cache" and "Prison Pond". We have also done some boating here. You can rent by the hour and the scenery is spectacular. There is a campground, store and 4 star restaurant (!) too. We hope you enjoy this wonderful spot as much as we do.
