Geocache Description:

It is about time that this park had another cache. I placed my very first cache here 01/05/2003. (Update: GCBEAE, Brooke's Place Cache @ B.P. Now archived due to area being bulldozed) This is a very cool section of the park, we spent 2 hours here just watching everyone go up and down and round and round.

You do not have to pay to watch....you can either watch from above or move in for a closer view....who knows maybe you will see a "Madonna".

What the heck am I talking about.....just go and check it out...the kids will love this place!

This part of the park closes when it gets dark but the viewing area remains open until 10 pm. The park does charge $1.50 on weekends but is free weekdays and usually open till 10pm for softball games.

Kid friendly & mother approved..bring a stroller, bike or skates for a fun day!

The cache is a Now a Lock and Lock container filled with lots of goodies

“Ollie”

Definition: A skateboarding trick where the skateboarder pops the skateboard into the air. The effect is the skateboarder jumping with the skateboard stuck to his or her feet.
Basically, the trick involves snapping the tail of the skateboard down while sliding the front foot up along the skateboard and jumping. This trick takes a lot of practice to get the technique, but once learned it opens the door for the bulk of common skateboarding tricks.

Alan "Ollie" Gelfand is credited for inventing the rolling Ollie in 1977 as a trick done in pools, and later Rodney Mullen the flatland Ollie in freestyle skating in 1981. Danny Wainwright from England holds the official record for the highest ollie at 44.5 inches, but video footage of a skateboarder named Jose Marabotto from Peru shows Jose ollying a stack of skateboards. Many think that the stack should be over 50 inches, but as the trick is only in a video, it's hard to tell and unofficial.

"Madonna"
is an aerial skateboarding trick where the skateboarder grabs the heel edge of the board near the front wheel with his front hand and kick his front foot off the board behind him. The trick was named by the inventors Tony Hawk and Lester Kasai who were trying to create a new trick in the 1990s. They thought that in order for a trick to become popular it needs a catchy name and thus chose Madonna (Madonna: United States pop singer and sex symbol during the 1980s (born in 1958)) since she was very popular at the time. The original trick involved tapping the tail of the board on the lip of the ramp as it was landed, and was only called a madonna when performed frontside (frontside: frontside and backside are surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding terms...
, but the definition has since then become more generic.

Now you know!
