Fangorn på Dal: Allt är förändrat. De flesta träden inklusive körsbärsträdet och kaprifolen är borta, riset är också borta och gömman förstås. Bara utsikten, stenarna och vattnet (och lite is) är kvar. Kanske lägger jag en ny gömma där om ett tag.

All is changed, the trees and the shrubs and the cache are all gone. Maybe I'll put a new one there later.

Geocache Description:

Eftersom det sedan tidigare finns en gömma (fler än en nu) på Hindens rev (Hidden on Hinden) på andra sidan Vänern, tycker jag att det bör finnas en pendang på denna sidan. Därför har jag lagt ut denna. Since there is a cache (more then one now) on Hinden on the other side of the lake, I thought there should be one here too.

Båda uddarna Hjortens udde och Hindens rev, är resultat av samma skeende under den senaste istidens avsmältning och en rygg av grund finns på Vänerns botten mellan dem. Fyren här vid Hjorten var bemannad fram till 1980-talet, men nu är den helt automatisk och dessutom försedd med diverse elektronik. Fyrträdgården och runt stugorna på udden är förstås privat mark men det går bra att leta sig ner till stranden på små stigar runt om. Själva stranden består av grova slipade block av alla sorters sten. I viken innanför på norrsidan finns en badstrand. På senvintern kan det bli fantastiska isformationer runt udden, men förrädisk is pga. att den rör sig. Both points, Hjorten here and Hinden on the other side are the result of movements of the ice during the end of the latest glaciation. There is a ridge between them on the bottom of the lake. The lighthouse was manned up to the 1980´s but in now automatic and equipped with electronics. The garden and the area around the other buildings on the penninsula are ofcourse private grounds. But you can find a way to the shoreline on paths around. The "beach" is heavy rounded blocks of all kinds of stone. In the bay on the north side is a better beach for swimming. In late winter there is sometimes amazing iceformations around the point, but the ice is allways moving and therefore dangerous! Gömman innehöll från början information, loggboken och en penna. En dalahäst (tagen från Hidden on Hinden), en reflex och ett snörlås.
