Geocache Description:

Located in the Village of Bierton, this offset Multi-cache will take you on a stroll of just over a mile and should take you about 45 - 60 mins to complete. It's amazing to find these features in a busy village.
Hints/Warnings:
There may be some small horses in a field you have the right to cross (the field not the horses!). The grey/white horse is called "Tulip".
Not suitable for buggies.
Keep to designated paths.

A Lake, a Pond and a Camping Site (Bucks)

Not your straight forward Multi-cache I'm afraid. There's a little bit more to it. Please read on for the details.

Starting at the co-ordinates above, solve the clues, follow the directions given, find a microcache and then find the main cache! At some point during this cache, however, in order to claim a find you must find the following object, note the co-ordinates you're at whilst looking at it and then email those co-ordinates to me for confirmation. DO NOT make reference to the co-ords in the online logs below please. EMail only! It can be located at any point during the cache so Keep 'em peeled!

Other specialised equipment you may need to complete this cache include; a calculator (or a reasonably brainy person); pen and paper.

The co-ordinates at the top of the page is the start of cache and the first tranche of questions relate to one of my dojo's and its surroundings. Most of the time the gate to the car park will be open and parking is FREE. However, should it be locked, there is plenty of on-street parking. This cache can be considered as pushchair/buggy friendly but there will be occasions when stiles have to be crossed and a bit of lifting will be necessary. I am sorry to say, this is not wheelchair friendly.

Having parked your mode of transport, enter the Sports Centre Car Park. Start your quest!

Locate the answers to the following questions:

  • How many words (not including the dates at the top) are there on the Remembrance plaque?
    ANS: AB
  • Between what two dates in May 2000, did Bierton, Broughton and Hulcott Parish mark the celebration by way of a memorial?
    SUB ANS: (i)(ii) and (iii)(iv)
Add these numbers together and keep doing so until you get a single digit number i.e. 16th and 22nd would result in 1+6+2+2=11 which is 1+1=2.
    The result will now become
    ANS: C
  • How many disc-like outside lights are there on the Sports centre?
    ANS: D
  • On what date was Bierton Sports Centre opened?
    ANS: EFth July 199G

Leave the car park and turn right. Turn left into a street with a similar name to "Billy Mountain Drive". Go to the end of the road, through the car park and turn right up the footpath. Please do not bring your car, this is a private car park. Cross two stiles. You must now locate a metallic animal before reaching the road. In the time honoured fashion, A=1, B=2, C=3 etc convert the name into a two digit number by adding the letters values together. This number will be represented as the following letters:
ANS: HJ

Substitute the letters in the formulae;

N 51 A(J+H).CGB W 000 A(J+E).(D+H-2)(J+E)(F+J)
N 5 1* * * . * * * W 0 0 0 * * . * * *

PLEASE NOTE: Underlined part of formulae has been amended.

At this location ascertain the following:

  • How many thin stone-like structures protrude from the ground?
This has undergone serious upheaval. Until it settles I will provide the answer: 10
    ANS: K
  • On what day in March did Joseph HARDING die?
    ANS: 1L
    As above L=7
  • The building was enlarged between two dates. What are they?
    ANS: 183M - 188N

Now go to:

N 51 (K-6)(H+N).(D+2)(L-M)D W 000 H(C-2).FGD
N 5 1* * * . * * * W 0 0 0 * * . * * *

The final co-ordinates for the main Cache are located at this place. Use extreme stealth in recovering / retrieving the microcache as this is 'muggle city' being highly residential and replace in the same place. Having noted the co-ordinates and put them in your GPS - follow the arrow!

Replace the cache exactly as you found it please . No piles of sticks.

NB

REMINDER: You must log the physical cache AND send me via EMail the required co-ordinates in order to claim a find. If you have a camera, feel free to post a picture of the 'object' as well. ANY log not fulfilling this requirement will be deleted! DO NOT mention the co-ordinates in the online logs below. Thank you for your co-operation.

Good Luck

The cache is small to regular in size and originally contained:
