Although just a small village, Port Erin has lots
of facilities, including...
|
a Railway Station |
|
shops, |
 |
|
a police station, |
 |
pubs, |
 |
|
...and even its own Fire Brigade, |
 |
based near the cache. |

Leave time to explore the village, as well as its superb beach,
after this little visit to the Glen which runs alongside the stream
leading from the football ground to the sea.
Begin at the little weather station at the foot of the glen (the
cache coordinates). Here, take a note of two numbers: the highest
barometric pressure (AXXX) and the year (BXXC). These will be
useful later.
Now, cross the road to the glen and walk along the stream, past
N 54°05.073',W 4°45.457', over the bridge then onto Athol Park and
stop at Park House.
Don't be shy here, the owner of Park House is aware of the
geocache and won't mind you opening the little box inside the
gatepost which contains the instructions to Part 3.
