Located in the beautiful Benbow Valley, this cache offers a break from traveling Hwy 101.
The container has recently been changed to a jar.
This cache is dedicated to Al. He was a salesman who traveled around selling religious candles. He stopped in Garberville for a sale and ended up playing golf with the local priest at this golf course. He of course got his only "Hole-in-One" and had the priest as a witness to prove it. Whenever we are here we always recall the tale of "Al's Hole-in-one"! He was also my brother's beloved father-in-law.
If golf is not your thing, there is also the historic Benbow Inn to check out. I love the rose garden.
You can also just relax at nearby Benbow Lake, a state park picnic area, with grass, restrooms and water to play in. Rafting is especially fun here on a hot summer day.
